The authorities have announced a temporary suspension of mobile phone services in certain areas of Peshawar in preparation for the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) on September 22, 2024.
According to the Peshawar Commissioner, mobile services will be unavailable for four hours in the vicinity of all examination centers throughout the city. The move is intended to prevent cheating and other unauthorized activities during the examination. In this regard, a formal request has been sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ensure compliance.
The commissioner further explained that signal jammers will be installed both inside and outside the examination halls to block mobile phone usage. Additionally, Section 144 has been enforced, restricting the movement of the public near the centers to maintain order and security.
Security measures have been heightened, with the SP Security instructed to organize the deployment of both male and female police personnel. This will ensure the safety of the examination staff and the candidates appearing for the test.
Khyber Medical University Peshawar is set to conduct MDCAT 2024, with various centers established across the city to accommodate candidates. The enhanced security and preventive measures reflect the authorities’ commitment to conducting a fair and secure examination environment.
