Just ten days after its release, Sony and Firewalk Studios have decided to immediately cease sales of the game Concord as they reassess their strategy for better engaging with players.
In a recent update on the Official PlayStation Blog, Game Director Ryan Ellis shared that the game did not meet the studio’s expectations at launch. Consequently, they have opted to halt sales and shut down the game’s servers on September 6th. A full refund will be issued to all purchasers across all platforms. Here’s how to obtain your refund:
- Steam Store: Steam will process refunds for those who purchased the game. Players will receive confirmation once their refund has been completed.
- Epic Games Store: Epic Games Store will also issue refunds and will contact each customer directly to confirm the refund.
- Other Retailers: If you bought a physical copy from a retailer, please follow the refund process specified by the retailer.
Despite the game’s promising aspects, its launch saw disappointing results, with notably low player numbers on Steam from the start. This swift decision reflects a recognition of the game’s failure to capture current gaming trends. It remains to be seen if and how Concord might be reintroduced in the future.
