Punjab Government Mandates Public Dealing Hours

In a move aimed at improving accessibility and responsiveness to the public, the Punjab government has issued a directive mandating public dealing hours in all government offices across the province.

According to the notification issued by the Services & General Administration Department, all public offices, including subordinate offices, attached departments, autonomous bodies, companies, and authorities, are required to designate the hours of 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM as public dealing hours. During this time, government officials must be present in their offices and ensure that their doors are open to the public.

The government has emphasized the importance of addressing the concerns of the general public and has instructed officials to issue necessary directions for the redressal of their issues. Field visits and meetings are to be scheduled after public dealing hours.

The directive is a significant step towards enhancing transparency and accountability in government operations and ensuring that the public’s concerns are given due attention.
