MrBeast’s Beast Games Faces Crew Injury and Lawsuit

A crew member working on MrBeast’s upcoming Amazon game show, Beast Games, was reportedly injured during filming after a 6×6 set piece fell on them. The incident took place on September 11, 2024, as the show was wrapping up production. According to Rolling Stone journalist Steven Asarch, emergency services were called immediately, and the injured crew member was transported to the hospital, where they remain for treatment. A spokesperson for MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has declined to offer any comments regarding the situation.

This incident is just the latest in a string of controversies surrounding Beast Games. On September 16, 2024, five unnamed contestants filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing Amazon and MrBeast of subjecting them to sexual harassment, “inhumane” working conditions, and failure to meet minimum wage requirements. The 50-page lawsuit highlights various instances of mistreatment during the production of the game show.

In addition to the lawsuit, internal documents from the Beast Games crew compared the chaotic production process to the infamous Fyre Festival. Some staff members described the show as “wild” and “disorganized.” One crew member reportedly stated, “There’s a reason why this level of production hasn’t been attempted before, and it definitely shouldn’t have been without experienced professionals.”

The ongoing legal issues and recent hospitalization incident add to the growing backlash against MrBeast. Earlier in 2024, he distanced himself from former collaborator Ava Kris Tyson after allegations surfaced regarding Tyson’s inappropriate behavior with young fans. Despite pledging an internal investigation, MrBeast has remained largely silent on the matter.
