The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced on Thursday the successful conclusion of its art competition aimed at selecting designs for the country’s new banknote series. The competition showcased the creativity and artistic talent of local artists and designers, who submitted their entries for various denominations.

In a press release, the SBP acknowledged the participants, stating, “We appreciate the local artists and designers who participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and talent in this important endeavor. After a thorough evaluation by a committee of esteemed experts, the following designs have been selected for awards.”

The selected designs are not final but are considered suggestive. These submissions will be shared with international designers, who have also been shortlisted to collaborate with SBP to finalize the designs for the new banknote series. While the international designers will draw inspiration from these local contributions, they will have the creative freedom to bring their own expertise and imagination to the final designs.

“The SBP will ensure that the new banknote series reflects the rich cultural heritage and progressive vision of our nation, and we hope the final designs fully represent this collaborative effort,” the press release stated. Prize money will be awarded to the winners as previously announced, in recognition of their contributions to this significant national project.

Further details regarding the award ceremony will be shared soon. The SBP congratulated all the shortlisted participants and expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the competition.
