In a significant disciplinary action, the Lahore Police Department has dismissed Sub-Inspector Khawaja Waseem following a scandalous incident that brought considerable shame to the department. Waseem, who was on duty, was caught on video engaging in disruptive and abusive behavior while under the influence of alcohol reported Gizmo Pakistan.
The incident occurred a few days ago at a private hotel where Waseem had intruded upon an uninvited wedding reception. The footage, which quickly circulated on social media, shows Waseem using profane language and creating a scene, clearly intoxicated. This disturbing behavior prompted immediate intervention from emergency services.
Emergency response teams, known as 15, were dispatched to the hotel following reports of the disruption. The arriving officers arrested Waseem, and in accordance with the instructions of DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, a formal case was filed against him. The filing of the case came after significant public outcry and scrutiny.
