Exclusive: ACS South Approaches FIA Against Scammers Using His Name

In a recent development, the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) South has officially sought intervention from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to tackle a rising scam involving fraudulent use of their name. This move comes after Gizmo Pakistan’s earlier report highlighted how scammers have been exploiting the ACS South’s name to deceive field officers.

The ACS South’s office has formally approached the FIA’s Cyber Crimes unit in Multan, requesting strict action against those perpetrating this scam. An official letter from the ACS South to the FIA Cyber Crimes Multan Additional Director reveals that scammers are fraudulently using the ACS South’s name to mislead field officers.

To facilitate the investigation, the ACS South has appointed an officer as the focal person to coordinate with the FIA. This officer will assist in the ongoing inquiry and ensure that the investigation proceeds smoothly. According to reliable sources within the FIA, Mr. Tariq Sipra, Assistant Director at the FIA, has been designated as the Investigation Officer for this case.

The fraudulent activity involves scammers posing as representatives of the ACS South to extort money or sensitive information from field officers. This scheme has raised significant concerns about the safety and integrity of official operations within the region.

In a related development, a separate case of fraud has emerged involving an individual impersonating the Director General (DG) of Anti-Corruption Punjab. The fake DG has reportedly been engaging in fraudulent activities, including extorting money from people under investigation. This incident underscores a troubling trend of impersonation and deception within the region.

The FIA is actively investigating the scam involving the ACS South’s name. With Mr. Tariq Sipra leading the inquiry into the ACS South scam, the agency is committed to identifying and prosecuting those responsible. The FIA’s focus is on uncovering the full extent of these fraudulent operations and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and verify the credentials of any individual claiming to represent government offices or agencies. Field officers and citizens are advised to report any suspicious activities to the FIA immediately.

The official action taken by the ACS South and the ongoing investigation by the FIA highlight the serious nature of these fraudulent schemes. As the inquiry progresses, the case is expected to reveal more about the methods and individuals behind these scams. The FIA’s efforts to combat such fraud are crucial in maintaining public trust and ensuring the integrity of government operations.
