The Scottish Government has launched the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls, a program designed to support graduate studies for Pakistani women at HEC-recognized universities across Pakistan. This initiative aims to increase accessibility to higher education for women, empowering them to reach their full potential and pursue their ambitions.

The scholarship is open to young women, particularly those with disabilities, from rural areas, or belonging to minority groups. Applications are encouraged from these underrepresented groups to ensure broader participation.
The British Council will oversee the administration of the scheme in Pakistan. They will coordinate with selected scholars and universities directly or through designated university focal points.
Scholarship Details
The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships are available for:
- Undergraduate Programs: Covers a four-year bachelor’s degree at any HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
- Master’s Programs: Covers a maximum two-year master’s or MPhil degree at any HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
What the Award Covers
Awardees will benefit from:
- Tuition fees for courses in eligible fields
- University hostel costs, where applicable
- Travel expenses to and from home to university twice a year for students residing in on-campus hostels
Eligible Subject Areas
The scholarship supports studies in the following fields:
- Education
- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
- STEM (for Master’s degrees only)
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be Pakistani nationals currently residing in Pakistan
- Be pursuing a two-year master’s degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree in one of the listed subject areas
- Hold a confirmed admission offer from an HEC-recognized university in Pakistan
