The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced new guidelines for pension account verification, extending the deadline for required biometric and life certificate submissions.
Previously, pension accounts were set to be suspended if biometric verification and life certificates were not submitted by September 10. Under the new directive, this deadline has been extended to September 30. Pensioners now have until September 30 to complete their biometric verification or submit their life certificate.
Earlier, both biometric verification and life certificates were mandatory. The updated guidelines now allow pensioners to fulfill either requirement—either complete biometric verification or submit a life certificate. Only one of these two actions is now necessary to keep the pension account active.
Pensioners are advised to bring their original identification card when visiting the bank for these processes.
