Eleven police officers in Bannu have been dismissed by the District Police Officer (DPO) for their involvement in protests against the arrest of a former colleague.
As part of their protest, the officers also refused to participate in the polio vaccination campaign.
The officers dismissed from service include Head Constables Sher Aslam and Mir Zaman, along with Constables Zaheenullah, Fareedullah, Tauseefullah, Hazratullah, M. Qayyaz, Bakhtiar, Farman Ullah, and Anwar Ali.
This action came after a formal notice was issued to the control room regarding the protests. The DPO’s decision emphasizes the importance of maintaining law and order, as well as ensuring police officers fulfill their duties with integrity.
In a separate incident, two traffic wardens were suspended for issuing a challan to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Sher Ali Afridi in Peshawar for a traffic violation. The MPA had filed a complaint, alleging the wardens used inappropriate language. These incidents highlight the need for police accountability and proper adherence to protocol.
